1. Forehead and chin:
These areas are often more oily which makes the pores more prone to clogging (aka spots). Use a deep pore, purifying mask.
In all honesty, i rummaged through my cupboards and makeup bags to see what face masks i had lying around rather than going out and buying some specifically. For my oily bits i found ‘Sanctuary Spa, 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask’. This mask contains charcoal treatment with is great for drawing out impurities.
This area tends to have a lot of pores and blackheads so a pore strip or a peel off mask is a good option to help minimise them.
Again, rummaging through my cupboards i found ‘Soap & Glory, The Fab Pore, 2 in 1 Mask and Peel’. This mask has tiny exfoliating beads in it which is great and digging those pores out.
A deep cleansing detox mask will most likely be too much for your cheeks. These need hydrating, not drying out.
Good old Brazilian fabric mask that i got in Superdrug for under £1. This is a moisture mask that comes with a fabric face sheet so i just scooped the mask away from this and smothered over my cheeks.
The most delicate part of your face, any sort of facemark here is going to be a bit much. Instead, go for an undereye cream to sort those bags out.
Clinique, All About Eyes Rich. I’ve had the same small tub for months now, it really does go a long way.
After leaving the masks on for 15 minutes, i removed them all with a warm damp flannel (I should have taken them off at different times according to each masks instructions but 15 mins just flew by).
My nose feels tingly (as though the mask did its job cleansing the pores), and the rest of my face feels soft and deeply cleansed.
When I've used just the one mask in the past, there would be certain parts of my face that didn't feel as clean or purified as the rest (if that makes any sense). I’d always smothered the mask literally all over, under the eyes, right up to the hair line, all the places that didn't actually need masking.
It could just be a placebo effect but i really do feel like the multitasking has worked wonders. I’ll be sticking to this method going forward, for sure!
